Teen Dream, the new album from Baltimore duo Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally, better known as Beach House, is coming out in a couple of months. January 26th 2010 to be precise. As tends to happen these days, the album has leaked already. Here’s one of my favourite songs from it, Lover Of Mine.
Over the next few months the pair are touring Europe, ending with some UK dates in March opening for Grizzly Bear. Go see them. Their live show is quite the experience.

In other news…

See you all there, yeah? Cool.

I posted a Dolly Mixture video a few weeks back but I’ve took a notion to post a little more. Dolly Mixture were an all female twee/post-punk/new wave band who existed from 1978 to 1984. Here’s a song from their 1983 album Demonstration Tapes, called Angel Treads.
I highly recommend downloading (or purchasing, if you can find it) Demonstration Tapes. There are 27 tracks and not a single bad one amongst the bunch. There are a bunch of singles and an E.P that are also worth hearing. I’ve heard rumours about a Dolly Mixture documentary, but information is scarce online. If anybody can find it, let me know!
